Within the framework of cultural events dedicated to the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, on July 10, 2018, the National Center for Manuscripts and Rare Books of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted an exhibition “The Art of Iran in Miniatures of Farshchiyan”, organized jointly with the Cultural Mission of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic Iran in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The opening of the exhibition, which presents the paintings of the modern Iranian artist Mahmud Farshchiyan, was held with the participation of the responsible secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the RK Ualiev Kuatjan Serikkazievich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Mojtaba Damirchilu, Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Director of the Iranian Cultural Center Masouda Sheikh Zeyneddin, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Kazakhstan and representatives of the creative intelligentsia.
Farshchiyan’s works are widely known in the Muslim world and in the West. Characteristic style Farshchiyana – phantasmagoric plots with bright colors, birds, flowers and people. Master masterly combines the classic canons of Persian miniature with the western art school – and the result is amazing. Farshchiyan himself says that when creating canvases, he often listens to traditional music – painting and music are inseparable for him.
Today, paintings by Mahmoud Farshchiyan are adorned not only by Iranian and foreign museums, but also, for example, by the palaces of the Queen of Queens and Queen of the Netherlands, and were purchased by the heads of various states. Later the master moved to the US and now continues to work in his unique style in New York.
The exhibition will be held from 10 to 20 July 2018.
