In the period from March 21 to 24, 2018, the delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the composition of the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ualiev KS, the director of the National Center for Manuscripts and Rare Books Saduova A.Zh. and the deputy director of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, T.M. visited the Land of the Rising Sun – Japan.
During the visit, an important agreement was signed on further cooperation in the field of culture with the National Research Institute of Cultural Property of the city of Nara, a memorandum with the University of Tokyo was concluded, and a bilateral meeting of the Kazakh delegation with the President of the Japanese Foundation, Mr. Hiroyasu Ando, ​​was held. a number of mutually beneficial agreements in the field of culture, art and the exchange of experience.
A significant event was the delegation’s participation in the inauguration of the International Tokyo Exhibition of Antiquarian Books, organized by the Antiquarian Association of Booksellers of Japan. This event was attended by various organizations from more than twenty countries. Unique rare books and manuscripts were exhibited at the exhibition.
It should be noted that the National Center for Manuscripts and Rare Books received an invitation from the organizers of the event to participate in the International Tokyo Antique Books Exhibition, which will be held next year.
