Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Kemelevich Tokayev on August 23 visited the exhibition of the National Center for Manuscripts and Rare Books on the topic “Printing on the Silk Road”, prepared as part of the implementation of the program article of the Head of State of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan NA. Nazarbayev “View in the future – modernization of public consciousness” and the international specialized exhibition “ASTANA-EXPO-2017”.
The exhibition is organized jointly with the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The most valuable books exhibited at the exhibition: Marco Polo “Silk Road”; Atlas of Asian Russia; “Picturesque Russia” volume 12, etc. Here was presented the book of 1532 edition, which has not been investigated by anyone.
After reading information about the exhibition in the newspaper “Kazakhstanskaya Pravda” (for August 22, 2017, N. Kurpyakova), K.Zh. Tokayev expressed a desire to personally visit the exhibition and get acquainted with the activities of the National Center for Manuscripts and Rare Books.
